1. Choose the Right Stool Height
As shown in the picture, before selecting a bar stool height, carefully measure the height of your counter, then select a suitable stool height.
Key principle: Recommended to leave 10-12 inches of space between the bar stool seat and the tabletop to prevent your knees from bumping into it.
For example, if your kitchen island is 36 inches high, then you should choose 24-26-inch counter stools. If your bar table is 40 inches high, then you should choose 28-30 inch bar stools.
